BMW investing money in Mexico plant.

BMW announced they will invest $ 1 billion to build a new luxury car factory in northern Mexico. it will start its production in 2019, and it will be a try to extend the production company from US.

BMW board member Harald Kruger said that the plant in the northern state of San Luis Potosi will make 150,000 cars a year while there will be working 1,500 people.

Harald Kruger made the announcement in Mexico City and was accompanied by President Enrique Pena Nieto.

The other north American factory will receive $ 1 billion to grow their production to 450. 000 cars by the end of 2016. This factory is in South Carolina.

BMW has 28 factories in 13 counties. It is building a plant in Brazil, in Santa Catarina. The factory will start it’s work in 2014.

BMW and Mercedes brands have been battling each other for the leader position on the luxury autos sale market, since 2011. Each year after 2011 BMW has finished secondly, but this year they decided to invest money in Mexic after Mercedes brand has announced that they would do this and not $ 1 billion, but $ 1.6 billion for a factory making Infinity and Mercedes premium compact cars

Mexico has become a preferred spot for car makers because of low wages, its proximity to the United States and free trade agreements with 45 countries.

The BMW ActiveHybrid 7 is a combination from intelligent innovative technologies. Its energy management has the optimum operating strategy for all on-board computer systems and every driving situation.

The Route-ahead assistant coordinates the lithium-ion battery, the combustion engine and the electric motor.  For this it makes an analyses of the route profile that is in the standard feature Navigation system Professional much earlier. On inclined surfaces this enables all the energy to be directed from the high performance battery. During hill climbing the energy is recovered and stored in the high-performance battery.

Systematically the energy is being stored to permit the maximum amount of purely electric and emission-free driving in the town also named “Home Zone”. On motor ways ECO PRO Mode exploits inclined surfaces so that the car can move by its own kinetic energy. When the accelerator is left, the engine is switched off so no fuel consumption happens.


ECO PRO Mode has been introduced in the most new hybrids created by the BMW company. And it is known that this Mode reduce consumption by up to 20  percent.

Driving Experience Control lets the driver to activate the ECO PRO Mode. The electric driving can be enjoyed by only pressing a button.

This mode increases the efficiency of the hybrid system, because it controls the time and the place where the electric mode is turned on so it can maximize the electric propulsion in time.

Accelerator and transmission parameters and the heating/air-conditioning strategy are adapted to optimize fuel consumption. The Bonus range delivers information on how many additional kilometers have come through the efficiency-optimized driving in the ECO PRO Mode.

The portfolio of BMW group on zero emission cars started when they began selling BMW i3 on the international market and sold the first BMW i8 cars on the 5th of June 2014

The carport is designed in tune with BMW i cars to form a harmonious counterpart. The sustainability concept the carport is based on, is underlined by the materials used in the construction and by its solar modules. Not only carbon elements are used, that is only on the side of the carport, but the principal element is bamboo in the form of struts. Due to its fast growth, it is considered a sustainable raw material. Also are used high-grade glass-on-glass solar modules. They are translucent and very durable, and also they generate a high energy yield. For the panels used in EU, the manufacturer offers a 30-year guarantee

The carport lets the owner not only to have a supply of electric power but also independence of electricity prices. As well as the BMW I Wallbox Pro, the car can be charged with electricity from the carport. The solar energy can be controlled and stored due to the Wallbox, that shows how much energy is required, but if there is a surplus it can be put to the domestic use.

Generating private electricity with the help of solar collectors and feeding this CO2-free energy through the BMW i Wallbox into the vehicle’s high-voltage battery further optimizes  the life cycle assessment of the BMW i models. With a fully charged high-voltage battery, the plug in hybrid has a range of approximately 37km (22 miles) in all-electric mode.

It renders the overarching theme of lightweight design
